1. Acceptance
By using MingDao Meditation ("the App"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What MingDao Is
MingDao provides daily mindfulness practice based on Eastern classical philosophy, guided breathing, AI interpretation, and practice tracking.
Not medical advice: MingDao is for general wellness and personal reflection. It is not a medical device, therapy substitute, or mental health treatment.
3. Subscriptions
- Core daily ritual is free with usage limits on premium features
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
- Auto-renew unless cancelled 24+ hours before period ends
- Manage in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
- 7-day free trial for new users (does not auto-convert)
- Refunds handled by Apple
4. AI Features
AI interpretations are generated by Google Gemini. They are:
- Not authoritative scholarly commentary
- Not a substitute for professional advice
- Potentially imperfect or contextually inappropriate
You are responsible for how you interpret and apply AI content.
5. Intellectual Property
- Classical texts: Public domain
- Original translations, AI prompts, practice plans, "Why This Matters" content, audio: Copyright Maurice Wen
- Your reflections: Belong to you, stored on your device only
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer or decompile the App
- Redistribute content commercially
- Access AI services outside the App interface
- Use automated tools to interact with the App
7. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" without warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, AI accuracy, or specific wellness outcomes.
8. Limitation of Liability
Maurice Wen shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from App use, including loss of data or interruption of practice streaks.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access for Terms violations.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Shenzhen.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
